About the Role
A Network Engineer with hands-on IP broadcast and media network experience is required by our global client based in North America.
If you enjoy designing, deploying and supporting IP broadcast networks and acting as a technical subject matter expert for complex customer environments, this is an opportunity to work on some of the most advanced real-time media platforms in the industry.
Requirements
You will support customers and project teams during design, deployment and operational phases, contribute to solution design and product improvement, and act as a trusted technical advisor for media network and broadcast architectures.
The Network Engineer role is highly technical and customer-facing, combining system design, integration and advanced troubleshooting across modern broadcast IP and media networking environments.
The Network Engineer will have strong experience in SMPTE ST 2110 environments and IP networking for broadcast facilities.
To summarise, the Network Engineer will have the following skills and experience:
Strong practical experience working in professional broadcast or media production environments
Proven expertise in IP-based network deployment, with solid hands-on knowledge of SMPTE ST 2110 workflows, PTP timing and multicast networking
Experience working with enterprise switching and routing technology, ideally Cisco and/or Arista technologies
Deep knowledge of IP solutions, including network services such as PTP, DNS, DHCP, multicast routing, timing and control protocols
Familiarity with routing control systems and media infrastructure platforms used in IP broadcast environments
Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex system and network issues in real-time or mission-critical environments
Practical experience integrating third-party broadcast systems and IT infrastructure into complete end-to-end solutions
Exposure to SDN-based network management platforms, spine–leaf architectures, and NMOS workflows is advantageous
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement IP media network architectures capable of transporting uncompressed live video, audio and metadata across managed high-bandwidth infrastructures
Act as a subject matter expert for media networking and IP Broadcast technology
Provide advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex network and system issues within live production environments
Support solution deployment activities including commissioning, configuration and performance validation
Work closely with system architects and project teams to ensure network and system designs are robust, scalable and aligned with best practice.
Collaborate with technology partners and internal product teams to test, validate and introduce new platform capabilities
Contribute to technical workshops, customer demonstrations and solution briefings
Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, procedures and operational guidelines
This is an opportunity to join a highly innovative engineering environment where broadcast technology, IP networking and live production intersect.
You will work on complex, real-time media systems and help shape the evolution of modern broadcast IP infrastructure for leading broadcasters and media organisations worldwide.
