About the Role
A Data Engineering Consultant is required by a market-leading organisation in the Insurance sector based in London.
You who will play a key role in several enterprise AI data processing projects, delivering expertise in approaches to data processing and engineering across various state-of-the-art AI data solutions.
Requirements
Drawing from your extensive track-record working in data processing and data engineering, the AI Data Engineering Consultant will have a strong technical mind set and enjoy working in an advisory or consulting capacity - gathering requirements, building proof of concepts, making proposals, managing projects, and working with stakeholders from the banking and insurance domains.
The AI Data Engineering Consultant will also have unrivalled analytical skills and experience in data collection and reporting, with a proven track record improving data quality, data standards, data storage, design principles and best practices.
Working with both internal and external stakeholders, the AI Data Engineering Consultant must be comfortable taking an active role in discussions around design and implementation, working alongside Data Analysts, Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and Data Engineers – strong communication skills are a must have.
Background in the fields of AI, data engineering and / or data processing
Strong skills in gathering requirements and translating technical solutions
Passion for AI, innovation and building new services / products
A proven ability in abstract thinking, and communicating with internal and external stakeholder of various technical / non-technical levels
Strong advisory and consulting skills
Strong analytical skills and experience in enterprise data engineering programs
Proven track record improving data process, data quality, data standards, data storage, design principles and best practices.
Extensive experience in data projects including significant skills in data collection, reporting, and tooling selection
Technical capabilities including developing proof of concepts using Unix / Linux, Python, PHP and / or C/C++
Extensive experience working on Azure based infrastructure and Data Platforms
Strong programming / coding background in either Python or R development
Ability to engage in discussions with development teams around design and implementation and to provide technical insights on hardware and network configurations for Data solutions
Data Solution Architect with track-record in financial services
Significant Data modelling and data modelling design expertise
Strong knowledge of data structures and concepts
Demonstrable experience translating business requirements into data architecture requirements
Stakeholder engagement across Enterprise Architecture and Data Modelling teams to Senior Business Users and Project Sponsors
Knowledge of Oracle, Azure Cloud, Azure Data Lakes, Azure Data Factory, and Azure SQL is a major plus (although this is not essential).
